Every listing in this shop is a send-in postal service. Once ordered, we email you packing instructions and our workshop address — most jobs are completed and returned same-day on arrival, fully tracked.

Send-In Checklist

  • EIS / EZS ignition switch removed from the vehicle.
  • Engine ECU as well if you selected the pair test.
  • Optional: one key for electronic testing.
  • A note with your order number, registration, name and phone number.
  • Your return address for insured tracked delivery.

FBS4 replaced FBS3's key data with certificate-based cryptography generated inside Mercedes-Benz systems. Spare and lost keys on this generation are ordered through a dealer with your V5C and photo ID. What we can do is test the hardware properly first, so you are not buying dealer keys for a fault that was never in the key.

FBS4 bench testing for W205, W213, W222, W253, A-Class/GLA, W447 Vito and VS30 Sprinter. We test the EIS, the paired engine ECU and your existing keys, then send a written report. We do not program FBS4 keys — nobody outside the Mercedes-Benz dealer network can, and we would rather tell you that than take your money.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Can you program a key for my W205 / W213 / W222?

    No, and neither can any other independent workshop. FBS4 keys are generated inside Mercedes-Benz systems using encryption we cannot reproduce. Spare and lost keys are ordered through a dealer with your V5C and photo ID. Anyone telling you otherwise is not being straight with you.

    So what is this service for?

    Proving where the fault actually is. Plenty of FBS4 'key' faults turn out to be a failed EIS, a dead key-slot coil, water ingress or a communication fault — none of which a new dealer key fixes. We test it and tell you in writing.

    Do I get the fee back if you do other work?

    Yes — the test fee comes off any other job we do on the same vehicle within 30 days.

    Which FBS3 cars can you still do keys for?

    W203, W209, W211, W219, W204, W207, W212 and the earlier infrared cars, plus Sprinter W906 and Vito / Viano W639 vans. Those are all full add-key and all-keys-lost coverage.
