A key is only a key when every module in this chain agrees. That is what programming actually does.
Key fob & transponder: Remote buttons plus a chip that answers the car's challenge — the part that has to be married to the vehicle.
Blank keys are not keys

As a mobile service, the digital key is fully bench-tested for screen, buttons and signal output before your key electronics are transferred, rather than trial-and-error at the car. Because the conversion uses your original key, we only advise it where at least two working keys exist so one factory key stays untouched. Yes — where the vehicle supports comfort access, the smart key handles proximity unlock and push-button start.
Is it a mobile service?
Yes. Digital key conversion is carried out as a mobile service, or your key can be sent in by post. Each digital key is bench-tested beforehand so the screen, buttons and transmitted signal are confirmed working before your key electronics are transferred.
Can you convert a key that has to be inserted into the ignition?
No. Only keyless / push-button start keys can be converted. Traditional insert-and-turn ignition keys are not supported.
Is it risky to convert my only key?
We do not advise it. The conversion uses your existing key, so with only one key there is no untouched factory key left as backup. We recommend having at least two working keys, or programming a spare first.
