A key is only a key when every module in this chain agrees. That is what programming actually does.

CHIPRING COILCAS / FEMBDC / IMMOBODY / LOCKSENGINE ECUSTART GATECHALLENGE →← RESPONSESYNC COUNTER

Key fob & transponder: Remote buttons plus a chip that answers the car's challenge — the part that has to be married to the vehicle.

Blank keys are not keys

A cut blade opens doors. Starting the engine needs the transponder written into the car's key list.

All keys lost is a data job

With no working key we read the immobiliser data out, calculate the key, then write a fresh one in.

Spares are cheaper before the panic

Adding a spare while one key still works is a short job. Losing the last key is a much bigger one.

Coding keeps the car standard

Keys, comfort access and remote functions are coded to your build, not bodged with generic settings.

Overview

Mercedes key work is decided by the ignition switch (EIS / EZS) and the immobiliser generation behind it. FBS3 and earlier cars hold key data in the EIS, so all-keys-lost can be solved from that module alone. FBS4 cars pair the EIS with the engine ECU, so both modules are needed. We identify which applies from your registration first, tell you exactly what to remove or bring, then programme, code and test before anything goes back in the car.

  • ESL / steering-lock emulator fitting

  • Second key at 50% discount
  • Postal service UK-wide

Frequently asked questions

What do you need for a Mercedes add-key service?

The EIS (Electronic Ignition Switch) and one existing working key. Blade cutting is optional and included in the £180 postal price.

What is required for Mercedes all keys lost?

On FBS4 cars (W205, W213, W222, W447, VS30 and late W204) we need the EIS and the matching engine ECU. On older FBS3 and early systems (W202 to W212) the EIS alone is enough.

How do I know if my Mercedes is FBS3 or FBS4?

As a rule, cars up to around 2009 are FBS3 or earlier, and W205 onwards are FBS4. The W204 spans both. Send us the registration and we confirm which applies before anything is removed.

What does the ESL emulator do?

It replaces a failed electronic steering lock (ELV) that stops the key turning or the car cranking. £100 as an add-on to a key job, or £180 as a standalone service including the part, labour and coding.

Do you offer a postal Mercedes key service?

Yes — UK-wide. Post the EIS (plus the ECU on FBS4 all-keys-lost jobs) and we programme, test and return them tracked.

Is the second key cheaper?

Yes. A second key coded on the same job is half price at £90.

Wolverhampton & West Midlands

Do you cover mercedes key programming in Wolverhampton?

Yes. Wolverhampton is our base. Mercedes key programming is carried out mobile at your address or at the workshop, usually same or next day.

Which areas outside Wolverhampton do you travel to?

Mobile cover across the West Midlands — Birmingham, Walsall, Dudley, West Bromwich, Cannock and Telford. Modules and ECUs are also accepted by post UK-wide.

Are you an automotive electronics specialist or a general garage?

Automotive electronics only — keys, immobilisers, ECU cloning, coding and diagnostics. No bodywork, no guesswork.
