Service Overview
- Postal service as standard: order, post your original and donor EIS with one key, and we clone, test and return the unit on tracked delivery. Mobile attendance across the West Midlands is available with a postcode-based call-out fee.
- If the EIS becomes faulty the key may stop turning or the car will not start, and the module locks its ignition function as a security measure. Jump-starting with the key inserted, voltage spikes and low battery voltage are the usual causes, and they corrupt the internal memory or crash the processor. Once that happens the unit cannot be re-flashed with Mercedes diagnostic equipment (Xentry, Star, DAS) — the dealer answer is full replacement plus programming. Cloning avoids all of that.
- Older EIS units using the Motorola HC08 processor (maskset 4J74Y) are the most common failures: intermittent key recognition or a total processor crash, much like a frozen computer. Our cloning process restores full function and key synchronisation.
- Standard keys only. We do not program Keyless-Go, and Keyless-Go cannot be retro-fitted to a car that did not leave the factory with it.

What are the common EIS / EZS failure symptoms?

Do I have to program anything after fitting?

What if you cannot recover my data?
We return your parts and refund in full. No fix, no fee.
Can you clone a water-damaged EIS?
Often yes — data can be extracted from partially damaged units. If recovery is not possible you are refunded.
How long does the whole process take?
Cloning is usually completed the day your package arrives. Allow around 3–6 days door to door on standard tracked delivery, or next-day return with the priority option.
Does this work with Keyless-Go?
This listing covers standard FBS3 keys only. We do not offer Keyless-Go programming.
