Service Overview
- A Mercedes ESL emulator replaces the electronic steering lock and presents the correct signals to the EIS and ECU, so the car starts and runs normally without the ESL fault. It is the reliable, cost-effective alternative to a remanufactured factory lock.
- Programming is done on the bench: order the service, post your EIS and one working key, and we pair the emulator before returning everything with free priority tracked delivery. Mobile attendance across Wolverhampton and the West Midlands is available with a postcode-based call-out fee.
- Standard FBS3 keys only. We do not supply or programme Keyless-Go keys, and Keyless-Go cannot be added to a car that did not leave the factory with it.

- One key fob — if you have two, send only one; both will work afterwards.

- Original metal emergency key if you are adding a spare key and want the blade cut.
- Driver's door lock cylinder if you have no metal emergency key at all (blade cut from the lock bitting, £65).

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know my steering lock has failed?
Typical signs: the car will not start, no yellow or red warning lights when the key is turned to position 2, the steering wheel does not unlock when the key goes into the EIS, or the wheel stays unlocked when the key is removed. Scanning the EIS/EZS usually stores a code such as A25464 "Electronic steering lock has a mechanical fault" or "implausible signal".
What do I need to send you?
Your EIS/EZS and one key fob. If you have two keys, send just one — both will work when the programmed emulator comes back.
Is it plug-and-play once I get it back?
Yes, but only because this £180 service includes programming to your EIS/EZS first. A virgin emulator bought without coding will not start the vehicle.
Is a standalone virgin emulator already coded?
No. First- and second-generation standalone emulator units are supplied virgin. They require suitable dealer-level coding or programming before they can bypass the failed lock and allow the vehicle to start.
Should I add a spare key while you have my EIS?
It is the cheapest time to do it — the EIS is already on the bench. A dealer spare typically costs several hundred pounds; ours is £160 with the emergency blade cut when you send the original metal key.
Can you cut a key if I have lost the metal emergency key?
Yes — send the driver's door lock cylinder and we will cut a key from its bitting (£65).
Do you supply Keyless-Go keys?
No. Standard FBS3 keys only.
How long does it take?
We program the emulator the day your package arrives where possible. Free priority tracked return delivery is included in the £180 service.
