What's the difference between EWS4 and EWS4M?
EWS4M is the motorcycle variant of the EWS4 immobiliser used on BMW K, R and F series bikes. Both use the same encrypted key data approach and are covered here.
Do I need to send the DME/ECU?
Not for a straightforward spare key. Send it if the module has been swapped, is virgin, or the ISN needs matching.
Is my late E46 EWS3 or EWS4?
Late-build E46, X3 E83 and Z4 E85 typically run EWS4. Send your registration or VIN and we'll confirm before you post anything.
How fast is turnaround?
