Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to remove the CAS2 module?
For the postal service, yes. Choose mobile service if you would rather we attend the vehicle in the West Midlands.
Why do you need the ECU for all keys lost?
The ISN (individual serial number) is stored in the DME. We read it there so new keys can be written into the CAS2 and start the car.
Will my existing keys still work?
Yes on an add-key job. On all-keys-lost, old keys are deleted for security.
Is CAS2 the same as CAS3?
No — CAS2 is the earlier generation used mainly on E60/E63/E65 and very early E90. The data layout and key handling differ, which is why it has its own listing.
