Frequently Asked Questions
What does virginising the donor mean?
The donor still carries the previous car's immobiliser and adaptation data. We clear it back to a neutral state first, then write your original data across, so the unit behaves exactly like your own ECU rather than fighting the car.
Does the part number really have to match?
Yes. Cloning writes your data into identical hardware — a different hardware number means different memory layout and processor, and it will not run. If the number you enter does not match, we contact you and refund in full rather than guess.
Will I need any coding or a dealer visit after fitting?
No. The clone carries your original immobiliser data, so it pairs with your existing CAS, FEM or BDC. Fit it, start the car, done.
Can you remap it while you have it on the bench?
Yes — add the remap option for £95 instead of £190, and tell us what you want in the requirements box. It is written to the cloned unit before it ships.
What if my original is completely dead?
Send it anyway. As long as the memory chips are readable on the bench we can usually recover the data, even when the unit will not power up in the car. If it is genuinely unreadable we tell you and refund.
How long does it take?
Same-day on arrival wherever possible, back in the post the same afternoon. Most customers have their unit back within 48 hours of posting.
