Key Features

  • Component protection removed and the replacement part authorised to your VIN.
  • Covers infotainment / MIB head units, instrument clusters, engine ECUs, gateways, ABS, ACC radar, steering and airbag modules.
  • Dealer-level credentials — the part is authorised the correct way, not bypassed.
  • Coding, adaptation and calibration data set so the module works fully, not just silently.
  • Free drop-in at our Wolverhampton workshop, or mobile attendance across the West Midlands.

Service Overview

  • Fitted a replacement head unit, cluster, ECU, gateway, ABS pump, ACC radar or steering module to a VW, Audi, SEAT or Skoda and the car has refused it? That is component protection — VAG's anti-theft lock that ties a module to the original vehicle. Until it is removed and the part authorised to your VIN, the module either stays dead or works with limited function and permanent fault codes.
  • We carry out the removal and authorisation with dealer-level credentials, then code, adapt and calibrate the module so it behaves exactly like a factory-fitted part. £200 fixed price.
  • What we need: car make, model and year are required. VIN and photos of the module label are optional but make the job faster and let us confirm the variant before you arrive.
  • Important: before booking, please confirm with the seller that the part is not stolen or blacklisted — ideally get the donor VIN. A blacklisted module shows up during coding, the job cannot be completed, and payment is still due as the session and workshop time are used.
  • Drop-in at our Wolverhampton workshop is free. Mobile attendance is available across the West Midlands and beyond with a postcode-based call-out fee.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost?

£200 for component protection removal and new-part authorisation. Drop-in at our Wolverhampton workshop is free; mobile attendance adds a postcode-based call-out fee listed on this page.

Do you need the VIN?

The VIN is optional but ideal. Car make, model and year are required — with the VIN we can confirm the exact module variant and software level before we start.

What if the part I bought is stolen or blacklisted?

Please check with the seller first. If a module turns out to be stolen or blacklisted it will show during coding, the job cannot be completed, and payment is still due because the diagnostic time and dealer session have been used. Getting the donor VIN from the seller avoids this entirely.

Which modules can you authorise?

Head units and MIB infotainment, instrument clusters, engine ECUs, gateways, ABS/ESP, ACC radar, steering column modules, airbag modules and most other CP-protected units across the VAG range.

Is this a bypass or a proper removal?

A proper authorisation. We use dealer credentials to remove component protection and adapt the part, so the module stays functional after updates rather than relying on a temporary bypass.

How long does it take?

Most jobs are completed in 45–90 minutes on the day, depending on the module and how many systems need adapting.

Not sure your car is compatible?

Send your VIN and we'll confirm compatibility before you order. We cover CAS1, CAS2, CAS3, CAS3+, CAS4/CAS4+, FEM/BDC and BDC2.
